Ways to install Check_MK

1. Three Ways to Install Check_MK
Check_MK needs to be installed on a linux server. There are three ways carry out
- Using an installation tarball of Check_MK from the Check_MK
Since Check_MK is an add-on to Nagios, this method requires a functional
Nagios installation and some knowledge about Nagios and Linux.
If you already have a working Nagios installation and only
want to add Check_MK this might be your way to go. Please continue reading
in Manual Installation or Quick Manual Installation Guide in
- Using a package of the OMD community release, which can be found on the
Download page of the OMD community project.
The installation with OMD gives you a preconfigured selection of monitoring cores
(Nagios, Icinga, Shinken) and addons, with Check_MK well integrated in a single
package, and requires only a couple of minutes for the installation. Here is an

with new features, optional professional support by the developer, and many
